Several South Australian districts face extended fire bans with hazardous conditions expected to continue today.

Total fire bans have been declared for 11 of the state's 15 weather districts through to midnight.

Senior forecaster Tom Boeck said the north and east of the state would experience the highest temperatures, with the mercury tipped to reach the mid-40s.

Firefighters battled a number of blazes yesterday amidst similar hot weather, and catastrophic fire danger is again predicted in the West Coast.
